“We were determined to get him” 😢
By Ashley Ortiz
Over the weekend, Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, received a distressing call for help. A rescuer named Kris Kelly, of The Kris Kelly Foundation, discovered a tiny pup left tied to the back of a residential trailer, and no one seemed to be caring for him.

Hall and her dedicated volunteer, Arturo Flores, were already in the area rescuing chickens when they received news of the little dog in need of help. They quickly finished rounding up the chickens and then rushed to the trailer, only to find that the dog was no longer there.
Still, they refused to leave until they knew the pup was safe.
“He wasn’t outside, so we decided to knock on the trailer,” Hall wrote on Facebook. “We were determined to get him.”

A man appeared at the door moments later, and Hall asked if he knew about the tiny dog who had been previously attached to the trailer. To their surprise, the man confirmed that the dog was his and offered to relinquish him immediately.
“The owner didn’t even hesitate. He said, ‘Do you want him?’” Hall wrote. “And within minutes, he was safe in our hands.”

Without skipping a beat, the man placed the tiny dog in Hall’s arms and returned to his trailer. The little pup, whom Hall named Remi, had been shaking in fear, but he instantly felt safe in her care.
Hall was astounded by Remi’s easygoing personality and his petite stature.
“I couldn’t believe how small he actually was,” Hall wrote. “[He was] maybe five pounds …”

Hall and Flores drove Remi straight to Camino Pet Hospital, where the sweet boy received his first thorough exam in a long time. The team soon diagnosed him with non-contagious mange and started him on a treatment plan that would help him feel better soon.
Despite everything he’d been through, Remi perked up at the vet clinic, as if to thank his caregivers for saving him.

Soon after his arrival, The Forgotten Dog Foundation agreed to take Remi in and find him the perfect foster home, where he’s been ever since. Despite everything he’s been through, Remi is now living his best life with his foster family, and he hopes to find a permanent home soon.

Remi’s rescuers are continuing to search for his perfect adoptive family while he decompresses in foster care. He’s still recovering from the emotional turmoil of his past, but with the constant love he receives from everyone in his life, Remi’s future is brighter than ever.
“This baby is [forever] safe and [getting] everything he needs,” Hall wrote. “And, oh my goodness, he is the sweetest.”
