In the restaurant in the city center, employees rarely stayed for long. Three or four months at most — and another worker would leave, slamming the door. The reason was known to everyone: the owner of the place, a rude and self-loving man who believed he had the right to talk to people like they were trash.
He could humiliate anyone — a waiter, a cook, a cleaner. He saw himself as a king, and everyone else — as nobodies.
