The room was completely dark. With a flashlight in my hand, I knelt down to look under the bed for a box of candles that we usually keep there.
As I swept the light across the floor, something strange appeared in the beam. It was a blue object with a bizarre shape, covered in spikes and curves. For a second, I thought it was some kind of broken toy or even a decoration from another planet.
I pulled it out from under the bed and examined it from every angle. The more I looked at it, the less I understood what it was for. I even went to wake up my son and ask him what it was.
As soon as he saw it, he started laughing.
The mystery was finally solved.
It turned out to be nothing more than a 3D-printed video game controller stand.
My son had either made it himself or bought it to hold his controller when he wasn’t playing, then forgotten it under the bed.
