A 23-Year-Old Woman Gave Birth to 14 Babies at Once?
A shocking claim has been spreading online—but is it actually true?
There is no credible evidence that a 23-year-old woman has ever given birth to 14 babies in a single delivery. The largest well-documented birth in which all babies survived infancy involved eight babies, known as octuplets.
Extraordinary cases do exist. Mariam Nabatanzi of Uganda reportedly had 44 children by age 36—but across multiple pregnancies.
Doctors warn that extremely high-order multiple pregnancies carry enormous risks, including premature birth and serious complications.
So, did a 23-year-old really give birth to 14 babies at once?
