A frightening discovery on a child’s scalp has drawn attention after a strange, swollen creature was identified as a tick. Unlike ordinary insects, ticks are arachnids that feed on blood and can become noticeably larger and lighter in color after feeding. They often hide in areas such as the scalp, behind the ears, and along the hairline. Experts recommend removing an attached tick promptly with clean, fine-tipped tweezers, pulling upward steadily without twisting. The area should then be cleaned thoroughly. Parents should also check the child for additional ticks. If fever, rash, headache, fatigue, or muscle aches appear, medical advice should be sought.
