“The longer she’s at the nonprofit rescue, the bigger her collection grows.”
Lambinator, Lamby for short, arrived at Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) in August 2023, and her rescuers quickly discovered her quirk: She absolutely adores lamb stuffies.
Lamby loves her stuffed lambs so much and they make her time at the shelter just a little easier. She currently has 10 of them, and her collection is always growing.

“The longer she’s at the nonprofit rescue, the bigger her collection grows, and if someone doesn’t adopt her soon, the shelter’s cattery will be overrun with lambs,” Luis Sanchez, director of public relations and communications at APA!, told The Dodo.
Poor Lamby has been stressed lately in the shelter, and her rescuers are desperate to find her a home. She’s spent some time in different foster homes, but what she really needs is a forever family. She keeps getting overlooked, most likely because she requires a little extra care.

Lamby is incontinent due to a tail pull injury, and therefore needs help relieving her bladder and also wears diapers. She may have some special needs, but it’s such a small thing compared to her huge, infectious personality.
“This outgoing kitty has a happy and enthusiastic energy that is contagious,” Sanchez said. “She is a one-cat welcome committee to all visitors, meeting newcomers at the door and eager to introduce herself to everyone who comes by!”

Lamby never lets her setbacks slow her down. She has the ability to turn anything into a toy and even loves playing in tubs of water. She loves all humans, including kids, and has made friends with cats and dogs, big and small. She’ll cuddle in a lap or perch on a shoulder, watching the world go by.

Lamby is a carefree spirit at her core. Her stress lately comes from not having a permanent home to settle in, and her rescuers are hoping they can find her the place where she belongs very soon.
“She would excel in any home where people are willing to open their hearts to a cat who needs just a little extra care,” Sanchez said.
