“Once I started editing the photos, I started to realize how many he was actually lurking in …”
When Baylee Dalton, a professional photographer, arrived at a local farm in Sparta, Tennessee, for an engagement photo shoot, the first thing she saw was KitKat. He hopped into her car to greet her and stayed nearby until the couple arrived. She assumed he was the official greeter of the farm and wondered if he might even be in a few of the photos.
Little did she know, KitKat’s plan was to completely commandeer the entire shoot.

“When the couple saw KitKat following us out to the field, they were thrilled,” Dalton told The Dodo. “They love cats and hoped he would participate in at least a few photos; we just had no idea he would steal the show.”

As the shoot began, KitKat participated in practically every shot. He absolutely loved the attention and seemed thrilled to be part of the couple’s special moment.
“Once I started editing the photos, I started to realize how many he was actually lurking in (it was actually, like, 75% of the photos),” Dalton said. “The couple loved the photos, though, and loved the cat in them!”

After going through all of the photos, Dalton posted some on her social media accounts to help promote her photography business, BG Photography. As a result, the entire internet soon became obsessed with KitKat.
“The post took off more than I ever expected; people instantly fell in love with KitKat and made a game of finding him in each photo,” Dalton said.

Many people were curious if Dalton or the couple took KitKat home with them, but KitKat already has a loving home on the farm as a barn cat.
“Barn cats are just as loved as indoor cats, just with more mouse entertainment opportunities,” Dalton said.

Overall, Dalton looks back on the shoot fondly. It wasn’t how she or the couple had expected things to go, but none of them would have it any other way, especially KitKat.
