Gus Kenworthy never sought attention when he visited a South Korean dog meat farm, but what he found changed everything. Rows of frightened dogs were crammed into small wire cages, shaking from fear and neglect. Many had never felt sunlight, kindness, or a gentle touch. Moved by their suffering, Gus partnered with Humane Society International and helped rescue ninety dogs from the farm. For many, stepping outside was their first moment of freedom. Gus adopted some himself and helped place the rest in shelters and loving homes. The farm was shut down, and the rescue added pressure toward ending the dog meat trade in South Korea.
