My Wife Abandoned Me with Our Blind Twin Daughters. Eighteen Years Later, She Returned with a Strange Request.
I’m 42 years old, and I still can’t believe what happened last Thursday.
Eighteen years ago, my wife left me, abandoning me with our twin daughters, both of whom were blind.
She left to pursue her dream of becoming an actress, leaving me with the responsibility of raising our two girls all by myself.
Life wasn’t easy, but we never gave up. I did everything I could to make sure my daughters never felt neglected or unwanted.

I taught them how to sew. Together, we turned small pieces of fabric into dresses and clothes. That was how we created our own little world, where we did everything together.
That morning, the doorbell rang.
I wasn’t expecting anyone. I opened the door and froze.
It was her—my wife, the woman who had abandoned us eighteen years earlier.
She looked around our modest apartment. Contempt was written all over her face, as though the hardships we had endured disgusted her.
“So, you haven’t changed at all? You’re still the same failure. You’re still living in this dump? You’re a man, aren’t you? You should have made a fortune and built a real empire instead of living like this!”
Her gaze fell on our sewing table, the scraps of fabric scattered around it, and then the beautiful dresses my daughters had just finished making.
I said nothing. I simply let her look.
Suddenly, she flashed a satisfied smile and announced:
“I’ve come to take my daughters. I’ve brought them something.”
She handed me two outrageously expensive designer dresses and a thick bundle of cash.
My heart tightened when she also gave me a letter.
Then, in a sweet, hypocritical voice, she addressed my daughters.
“My darlings, all of this can be yours. Absolutely everything—the dresses, the money… But there’s one condition.”
I stood frozen.
My daughters, unaware of the trap their mother had set for them, cautiously reached out toward the beautiful dresses.
And I still had no idea what terrible demand she was about to make of my girls…

Three loud knocks echoed through the doorway. Two police officers entered, accompanied by a lawyer.

“Ma’am, you’ll need to explain why you attempted to misappropriate your daughters’ inheritance,” the lawyer said.
Lauren turned pale.
But the real shock came when Clara took an envelope from her bag and placed it on the table.
“Mom, we know everything. You only came back for our money.”
“You’re blind! You don’t understand anything!” Lauren screamed.
Emma lifted her head and replied calmly:
“We may be blind, Mom. But we’ve always been able to see who truly loves us.”
The police officers took Lauren away for questioning.
A few months later, the twins used their inheritance to open their own sewing studio.
On opening day, Emma wrapped her arms around her father and whispered:
“Dad, Mom abandoned us for eighteen years. But you gave us something no fortune could ever buy.”
“What’s that, sweetheart?”
She smiled.
“A father who never abandoned us.”
