A Dog In Need Crashes A Bachelor Party And Makes It Memorable

Posted on June 16, 2025

Boys will be boys.

They do all kinds of crazy things no matter if they’re just kids or slightly grown up.

That’s just how they roll.

We’re used to seeing a bunch of shenanigans going on at bachelor parties.

But, this party was not like the others.

For starters, it didn’t involve Vegas.

This party was truly special all because a bunch of guys helped save a dog in need.

Ladies, now you’re gonna stop pretending and let your men go to bachelor parties. You never know when someone might save a life!

Having fun and creating memories is all bachelor parties spin around. It’s the last fling before the ring and you gotta make it special.

Well, Mitch White surely didn’t think his bachelor party would end up in such a way. He was hoping for a spectacular finish.

Indeed, he and his boys sure had a blast and a phenomenal ending of their adventure.

Mitch and his friends decided to go canoeing on the Minnesota River. It was a short trip and a camping experience everyone was looking forward to. The crew had been on the river for a full day and night, without anyone else in sight.

Just when they were starting to paddle harder and enjoy the scenery around them, someone heard an unusual noise.

Mitch’s nephew turned his canoe around and saw something that wasn’t invited to the party.

Back on the shore, neck deep in the thick mud, there was a St. Bernard dog stuck. The poor creature must’ve wandered off and somehow got trapped in the mud, with only his head being free.

The men immediately turned their canoes around and rushed to help the pup in need.

You Gotta Dig Deep

There was no way that dog would have dug himself out from that unfortunate situation, but the bachelor party was luckily there to help.

Those guys jumped on the shore, used their oars as shovels, and started digging to save the dog.

“My fiance, Kelly, probably won’t marry me if we don’t get this dog out of here.”, joked Mitch.

Easier said than done.

Even the 11 men of the bachelor party couldn’t do it on their own. So, they called 9-1-1 and the Carver County Sheriff’s Office sent out help… the Fire Department.

We gave him water, and he drank about a half a gallon before stopping. We gave him some of our lunch meat and summer sausage we had been lunching on just before we found him.”, wrote White in one of his social media posts.

The poor dog was too exhausted. God only knows how long he’d been trapped there.

Being afraid that the dog would take their intentions as something bad, the crew and the firefighters who arrived took things slowly and carefully. Fortunately, they soon realized that the trapped dog, named Ed, would never do them harm.

He was waiting patiently for his rescuers to finish the digging.

Soon enough, Ed was finally free… covered in mud, but still free.

It didn’t take long to figure out who Ed’s owner was. The Sheriff’s department was fast in their search, and Ed and his hooman were reunited. They learned that Ed was missing for a day. He had great luck because nothing too bad happened to him.

Ed was unharmed… dirty, but unharmed, and feeling much better after his owner gave him a much-needed bath.

Thanks to Mitch and his friends, this poor pup is back home.

Although it took a few days of rest, Ed was back on his feet, happy to be with his owner, George… a Carver County local man.

Angels do walk on Earth, even though they sometimes don’t look like ones. They’re hidden among us and show up only when we really need them. They could be hiding anywhere, even in the form of bachelor parties.
