In Valrico, Florida, an unexpected visitor recently made a remarkable entrance that left everyone surprised. On May 22nd, a senior male cat walked right into the home of Andrea Budkis Christian, a dedicated cat rescuer affiliated with St.
Francis Society Animal Rescue. Andrea, who is well-known in her community for her efforts in Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) programs, was taken aback by this new feline that seemed to know exactly where to go.
Despite being an elderly and noticeably thin cat, this newcomer showed no signs of physical injuries.

Andrea rushed to arrange an appointment with her veterinarian to ensure his health was checked thoroughly, including a scan for a microchip to identify any previous ownership.
An interesting revelation came when it was found that the cat, later named Bob, was deaf.

This was discovered after Andrea shared Bob’s story on a social media page, where he was quickly recognized by Tabatha Norton, known to the rescuing community as the caretaker of Logan the Werewolf Cat.
With Logan’s mom’s help, Bob’s history began to unfold.

Bob, also known as Tyrone, was originally a stray with several health problems like a heart murmur and dental issues. Surprisingly, he was recently adopted from the Pet Resource Center.
However, due to missing medical information, his new young owner was unaware of his needs and allowed him to wander outside, which is not ideal for a deaf cat.

Demonstrating great compassion, Bob’s adoptive mother decided to entrust him to St. Francis Society Animal Rescue, so he could receive the medical care he desperately needed.
She hoped he could find a safe, loving home where his needs would be met.

Now under St. Francis’ care, Bob was placed with a special foster family. He now shares a home with Logan the Werewolf Cat and other felines, under the loving supervision of Tabatha Norton.
Bob, who is endearingly referred to as “Landlord Bob,” is thriving in his new environment. He’s described as friendly and enjoys watching nature from the window.

Efforts are being made to help Bob gain some healthy weight and to ensure he’s comfortable and happy. The rescue community is optimistic about finding him a permanent home where he can continue to be cherished.
Bob’s journey reminds us that sometimes, stepping through the right door at the right time can change everything. If you’re interested in giving this gentle senior a permanent home, you can reach out to tabnorton@gmail.com.
His story is a touching example of how fate and the kindness of strangers can transform lives.
